HUME CITY PROGRESES IN FFA CUP WİTH 3-1 WİN OVER DANDENONG THUNDER

Apr 21, 2016 - 12:35pm

Anadoluspor'un FFA Kupasında deplasmanda Dandenong thunder takımını 3-1 yenerek tur atlaması "Hume Leader, Community News" gazetesinde konu oldu.
Gazete yazarlarından Tim Mitchell'lin konu hakkında yazısı aynen şöyle;

HUME City is two wins away from returning to the national stage in the FFA Cup after disposing of Dandenong Thunder 3-1 on Wednesday night.

First-half headers from Shane Rexhepi and Joseph Franjic gave Hume the ascendancy at George Andrews Reserve, but the hosts found a lifeline on the stroke of halftime when their skipper Veton Korcari dispatched a penalty.

Hume City controlled proceedings in the second half and was rewarded after 69 minutes when young midfielder Kristian Trajceski rounded off a fine passing move involving Kofi Danning and Hernan Espindola.

Coach Lou Acevski said the result was satisfying after Dandenong’s Huss Skenderovic labelled Hume’s start to 2016 “quite poor” in the lead up.

If you read their coach’s comments throughout the week he said we’d been quite poor this year and he thinks his team is a top-five team in the NPL,” Acevski said.

If his team is a top-five team in the NPL, our team is a bloody A-League team.

Rexhepi opened the scoring in the sixth minute against his former side, heading home from a corner.

But it took more than 30 minutes for Hume to break down the NPL2 East leader again.

Visiting captain Nick Hegarty provided an inch-perfect ball for an unmarked Franjic to nod home after 40 minutes, giving Hume City a two-goal cushion.

Korcari’s penalty left the game on a knife’s edge, but the visitors looked the more likely side for most of the second half and sealed their progression when Trajceski found the back of the net in the 69th minute.

(They’re) probably the best, in-form team in the state, they’d won eight out of eight,” Acevski said.

To come away with 3-1 and win in such a comfortable manner...it was fantastic.

Acevski said he was thrilled with the performances of Trajceski and Deniz Yildiz, two 17-year-olds who were deployed in the starting line-up.

The cup win backed up Hume City’s 1-0 victory over Pascoe Vale which broke a run of three losses in four games.

I don’t think it’s been about turning a corner. In that 3-4 week period where we lost...we’ve been doing the right things but just haven’t been doing them consistently enough,” Acevski said.
