GOOD WİN

Mar 2, 2015 - 4:09pm

In the second game of the 2015 NPL season, Hume City successfully defeated Avondale FC at the Valley Park ABD stadium.

The first half of the game had players fighting against strong winds and Hume City tried their hardest to attack from the left wing.
Captain Nick Hegarty, however, was not in his usual form and with the addition of Marcus Schroen’s lacking performance the pressure was forced upon Isyan Erdogan and Joseph Franjic, who recently returned from nursing an injury.
In the second half, Hume City displayed a strong tactical game and the addition of young star player Sam Beninato helped strengthen the attack on the right wing.

In the 78th minute Jai Ingham kicked a great shot that had the opposition’s goalkeeper, Frazer Siddal, retrieving the ball from the back of his net.

In the 90th minute, Hume City put forward an excellent counter attack with Sam Beninato’s making a skilful pass to Jai Ingham who then successfully passed the ball to Nick Hagerty who picked up his game immensely and kicked the second goal for Hume City.

Our team displayed great performance in defence during this game.
Right wing defender Dean Tomeski played very well along with excellent performances by Shane Rexhepi and Petar Franjic.

Isyan Erdogan and Joseph Franjic worked very well together, like a well-oiled machine, and unfortunately Calvin Mbarga was unable to display the skilled game play that was expected of him.

Hume City was able to redeem themselves after the slow start they had at last week’s game.

Best players on the field this game were; Shane Rexhepi, Petar Franjic, Isyan Erdogan, Joseph Franjic and Jai Ingham.
