ANADOLUSPOR'UN YENİ TRANSFERİ

Feb 6, 2015 - 12:01pm

Hume City FC have acquired the services of young central midfielder Liam Newman with two weeks left before the beginning of the season.

Speaking exclusively to Melbourne Football, Newman is raring to go in a season which looks increasingly exciting for City as the days leading up to their first game tick by.
Returning from overseas after a two year stay in Belgium, followed by a year in Germany, the club made the decision to bolster their playing stocks further, signing the talented midfielder for the 2015 National Premier League Season.
Newman partook in Hume’s recent trip to Adelaide, where they faced tough opposition in NPL Australian Champions North Eastern Metro Stars drawing 1-1, and defeating Parra Hills Knights 4-1.
“We had a good team trip to Adelaide, with a lot of team bonding. We played well, and we trained well,” Newman said.
“I’m really looking forward to this season, I think we’ll do well and have a very successful season.
Hume’s exquisite facilities will play host to all home NPL games for the side this season, and with crowds starting to fill the stands, exciting times are around the corner for a side that is on the up.
There was a certain buzz emulating from the training session and camp, one that Liam has adapted to quickly after putting pen to paper.
“It’s great, the facilities are all new and all up to date. The system is good here and I think it’s going to work really well for this league.”

Lou Acevski’s side finished equal 6th on the final day of last year’s NPL season, which in the new format would have meant a shot at finals for the Broadmeadows-based team.
This year Hume will look to go one forward, something which Liam too has his sights firmly set on.
“For myself I want to play constantly and consistently.
“For the club I think we can win things, for sure. With the players we have and the team morale we have, we’re a winning side. We’re not going to take losses easily – we’re going to give our all every game.”
Hume kick their season off against Port Melbourne Sharks on the 22nd of February at ABD Stadium, Valley Park.
